Kasie is a parent of two gifted children, now adults. In the lack of ANY GT services offered in their schools or area, when they were growing up, she decided that homeschooling for the majority of their academic careers was the best for them. She studied Animal Behavior and Neuroscience at CSU under Dr. Temple Grandin, and also holds a degree in English. She is actively involved in Search and Rescue through the El Paso County Sheriff’s office, using several of her Border Collies. She occasionally breeds her dogs, and you may see her show up at school with a variety of baby critters from her farm to share with the children: goats, lambs, puppies, and the annual incubator experience in Division 1 with chicken or duck eggs to hatch!
